Queer Wine Night
Queer Wine Night was one of the first community groups the artist attended back in Spring 2022. They remember what QWN was like before there was a capacity limit and the excited nervous feelings they had when they first stepped into the space. They remember when GAY was written in the foggy hot window and everyone was packed inside like sardines. A thriving, vibrant, sapphic space; it felt so new and exciting. It is where they have since developed parts of their chosen family and met so many of their pals. They are so thankful for this space and will always remember the memories from those Tuesdays at Paradise Grapevine.
The CHOSEN FAMILY series is an unlimited and ongoing series about 2SLGBTQIA+ community groups from Toronto to speak to themes of belonging, queerness, and community. Each illustration depicts the community members that organize these initiatives, the spaces in which they are conducted in, and the attendees. This series is meant to promote and support the ongoing efforts of these groups so that they can continuing providing designated queer spaces that create places of belonging for many folks in the city.
For each print sold, 20-25% of sales will be donated to the community group that inspired the piece, to help support the organizer and the continuation of their events, activities or spaces.
