Queer Pickleball Club is a community group that gives space to queer women, trans and non-binary folks to learn and play pickleball. For years they have provided a financially accessible and welcoming space for folks to learn the sport and build community. QPC provides opportunities at a variety of levels, so it’s great for newcomers, as well as for those who want to play at a higher level. In Nov 2024, @dinko.paddles, @mixt.paints, and @queerpickleballclub teamed up to create the Community Paddle, featured in this print, and is available at dinkopaddles.com

The CHOSEN FAMILY series is an unlimited and ongoing series about 2SLGBTQIA+ community groups in Toronto. These pieces are focused on themes of belonging, queerness, and community to highlight the impact and importance of designated queer space.

Providing safe, queer space is fundamental for the longevity andsafety of 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Folks need to have community that they can lean on where they know they can be supported as the person that they are. Having groups that are designed for queer folks with intersectionalized marginalization is specifically important so that people can access support from others that understand their multidimensional perspective and experience.

Each illustration depicts the folks that organize and run these initiatives, the spaces in which they are held in, and the attendees. This series promotes and supports the ongoing efforts of these groups so they can continuing providing designated queer spaces.

For each print sold, 20-25% of sales will be donated to the community group that inspired the piece, to help support the organizer and the continuation of their events, activities and/or spaces.
